Biography

Farida Mardiati is a founding partner of FJ & Partners and one of the most experienced and highly respected lawyers in Indonesia. She specializes in all legal aspects of intellectual property law, mergers & acquisitions and corporate law. With 30 years of experience as a corporate lawyer, she is well versed in advising and representing clients, both international and domestic, on intellectual property issues related to any corporate actions including complex legal transactions.

Setting out from her love for arts and literature, Farida started to take interest in the area of intellectual property 19 years ago and since then, has become one of the figure introducing and advocating the importance of intellectual property protection in Indonesia, contributing as a speaker in several events for local micro entrepreneurs. In the intellectual property area, Farida has handled a number of strategic IP projects such as IP audits, acquisition and licensing transactions; IP prosecutions and litigation as well as advisory works for clients ranging from micro-enterprises to large international companies.

Farida is a graduate from University of Indonesia. She started her career as in-house legal at the PT (Persero) Asuransi Jasa Raharja in 1985 before becoming Associate at ‘Lubis, Ganie, Surowidjojo’ Law Firm in 1990. She later founded ‘Warens & Partners’ Law Firm in 1994, ‘Warens International Patent’ and ‘Warens & Co’ Law Firm.

Farida is a licensed attorney and registered Intellectual Property Consultant. She is a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) and the Indonesian Intellectual Property Consultant Association (AKHKI).

Farida speaks Indonesian and English fluently.
